We have a strong personal connection to adoption because Jason was adopted as a newborn. His adoption was closed, and he grew up not knowing his birth family. He was able to connect with and meet his birth family (four sisters and his birth mother) in his twenties and over the last 10+ years we have developed such a close bond with them. We have welcomed them into our family just as they have welcomed us into theirs, incorporating each other in important milestones. Jason even has a group chat where he texts with his birth family daily, allowing us to stay connected even when there's miles between us.

Prior to us meeting, Casey didn't know anyone who was adopted. She began to learn more about adoption through Jason's perspective and grew to understand how beautiful his story was and how incredible adoption can be.

One of the most amazing moments in our lives was having Jason's birth family celebrate our wedding day with us. Dancing with Jason's mom and birth mom reinforced that Jason's adoption was a gift to us all, and that an open adoption is the right choice for us to grow our family.

Adoption has added another layer of richness to our lives and expanded our understanding of love. With how it has impacted our lives in such a positive way, we feel extremely excited and uniquely prepared to parent a child through adoption.

One of our favorite things to do in our free time is ride our bikes along our local bike path, which passes through our neighborhood park, a horse farm, and along a beautiful creek. When the weather is nice, there's nothing we enjoy more than jumping on our bikes for a few hours. We also enjoy tent camping and hiking along some of Pennsylvania's beautiful hiking trails.

While we do love being outside, we are both homebodies at heart and love to spend time together reading, working on a puzzle, or watching a movie on our "Pizza Fridays" to relax after the work week.

Casey loves to bake, and she makes the most amazing chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls you'll ever eat. Family and friends are always begging her to make something delicious for our get togethers. She has also been teaching herself how to sew and has made a few pieces of clothing this year!

Jason enjoys music and grew up playing the guitar. Whenever we attend a family event, our family asks him to break out the guitar and play a few songs for us to sing along with. He even helped Casey's brother get into music by teaching him a few chords.

We cannot wait to share our hobbies with a child - we can already picture them riding their bike with training wheels next to us, jamming out on the guitar with Jason, and baking cookies with Casey!

One of our favorite family traditions is our family's Christmas celebration. On Christmas Eve, the family gathers and enjoys a delicious Italian meal, and after dinner Mrs. Claus and Jingles the Elf arrive and bring a gift for all the kids! We play a fun game where all of the grandkids try to unwrap a gift while wearing oven mitts and a Santa hat, and whoever is able to unwrap the gift gets to keep it. We spend the rest of the night sitting around the fireplace while Jason, Casey's brother, and her uncle play the guitar. The kids love singing "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer", and we always make sure to sing our family's favorite song "Country Roads".

On Christmas morning, we all wake up early and go to Casey's mom's house in our pajamas and open gifts together as a family. We open gifts one at a time, with the youngest member of the family opening their gifts first. Then we all sit down to eat our favorite Christmas morning breakfast - eggs, bacon, hash browns, fruit salad, and Casey's homemade cinnamon rolls!

We love the holidays but we also enjoy our regular weekly traditions too. Growing up, our families would rent a movie and order pizza every Friday night, and it felt natural for us to continue that tradition. Every week, we look forward to "Pizza Fridays" by making a pizza, throwing our on comfy clothes, and watching a movie together.

We live in a small town in Pennsylvania filled with many local boutiques and family owned restaurants. In our neighborhood, we have walking and biking trails, multiple community parks, and a swimming pool all within walking distance. Our town puts on lots of events including food truck festivals, local shopping vendor days, movie and ice cream nights, Christmas tree lightings, and one of the oldest 4th of July parades in the state. Our town even has a local theater where they host community plays and musicals! We walk into town almost every weekend and take advantage of the biking trails whenever we can. Our small town is also close enough to the city that we can easily take a day trip to the aquarium and zoo!

Our neighborhood is very safe and family friendly. We live only a few blocks from our local fire and police stations, and our school district ranks in the top 10% of Pennsylvania schools. If the weather is nice, you can count on the neighborhood kids playing sports or riding their bikes together outside.

We live a three bedroom townhome with a great outdoor space for our future child to play. Our favorite room in our home is our third floor loft, where we enjoy watching movies together in the evenings, as well as our cozy living room that opens to our dining room. We also enjoy spending time cooking together in our large kitchen.

We love spending time with our family and are so grateful that many of them live close by. Casey's mom and stepdad live just a 2 minute walk away, and her siblings all live within a 10 minute drive. On the weekends, you'll often find us having a BBQ, playing board games, or watching movies together. We also love to do fun activities with our family like going bowling or attending Phillies games.

Our extended family gets together for every holiday and birthday. One of our favorite holiday traditions is singing songs on Christmas Eve - we sing everything from Christmas classics to pop songs to rock music! The family always makes sure there is enough Italian food to go around, including Casey's Nanny's homemade Italian Cream Cake and homemade meatballs.

Our family is unique because it is so blended. Jason was adopted as a newborn and has remained in touch with his birth mother and sisters. We enjoy visits with them a few times per year, and we look forward to the day we get to introduce a child to Jason's birth family.

Our extended family is all extremely supportive of our adoption plan. They are so excited to welcome another child into the family and give them all the love and support they have shown us over the years. Two of our siblings are expecting baby girls this year, and our families cannot wait to watch our future child grow alongside their cousins.

Our relationship as a couple shines because we each got to marry our best friend. Yes, it sounds corny, but it's true! We have spent the last 12 years building a foundation of love, commitment, understanding, and laughter together as a couple. We are truly partners in everything, and have worked hard to provide a safe, stable, financially secure home for us to welcome a child into. We know that this is the right time for us to become parents and we look forward to the ways that parenthood will challenge us, make us better people, and strengthen our relationship even further.

We know that parenting a child through adoption will present some unique challenges that not all families will face. Adoption is already part of our story as a family, and if you choose us to raise your child, please know that our family is well equipped to support the complexities that come with adoption. We have an incredible family who have all been waiting a long time to become grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins to our future child.
